About this course

Two-time GRAMMY winner Laurence Juber teaches six of his own solo acoustic pieces - five in DADGAD and one in standard tuning. You'll build Cobalt Blue, The White Pass Trail, Breaking Point, Buffalo Nickel, Catch and The 5:55 from the ground up, with two bonus tunes, Along the Way and Love at First Sight, on top.

Juber's thorough demonstrations take the mystery out of his propulsive style, breaking down the multiple-string hammer-ons, fast walking bass-lines and percussive slaps that make these arrangements move. It's aimed at players ready to step outside standard tuning and discover how versatile DADGAD really is.

Please note: The original source for this online course is a DVD. The artist/teacher may refer to a DVD and sometimes a book, neither of which are included with your purchase. Instead, you will have lifetime access to stream the course on all your devices and PDFs of the transcriptions from the book.

Meet the Guru

Laurence Juber

Laurence Juber

Laurence Juber first became known as lead guitarist in Paul McCartney's band Wings. Since then he has built a career as a fingerstyle guitarist, composer and arranger, working largely in the DADGAD tuning that earned him the nickname 'the Duke of DADGAD'.

He has been voted Guitarist of the Year by readers of Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine and named among the top guitarists by Acoustic Guitar magazine, alongside a long list of solo albums and worldwide touring.

In his courses he teaches his fingerstyle technique and the DADGAD tuning he's known for, how to arrange melody, harmony and bass together for solo guitar, and the pieces - like his signature 'Wooden Horses' - that bring it all together.
