Lesson transcript
Level Four Music Lesson
Welcome to level four! As has become the custom in the previous levels, we're going to start with a breathing exercise again. But I've saved the best for last.
The 1315 Count Exercise
This exercise is called the 1315 count exercise. It consists of:
- Two 13 counts
- Then two 15 counts
The real test lies between the two 15 counts. This will put the catch breath that you learned a couple of levels ago right to the test.
The 13 count sections will prepare you for the melody and help you get your breathing ready for the 15 count test.
Melody Demonstration
Let me show you how the melody goes. It sounds like this:
1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 and 10 and 11 and 12 and 13.
When you get to the end of the 13, breathe in. The air comes in and your tummy goes out:
1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 and 10 and 11 and 12 and 13, breathe.
Preparing for the 15 Counts
Now you're preparing for the two 15 counts. Since there are two extra counts, you have a lot less time to breathe, and it's a catch breath.
Have a look:
1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 and 10 and 11 and 12 and 13, 14, 15.
1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 and 10 and 11 and 12 and 13, 14, 15.
