Drum Kit Microphone Setup
So just to recap the mics we're going to use on the drum kit, I made a list that you can download as a PDF. This will help you see where the specific mics go on the drum kit.
Microphone Placement

Kick Drum:
- D112: Placed inside and outside the kick.
- AKG 414: A large diaphragm condenser mic, also placed inside the kick.
- Sub Mic: A small speaker placed outside the kick drum.

Snare Drum:
- SM57: For the top of the snare.
- AKG 414: On the bottom to capture the snares.

Hi-Hat:
- SM57

Toms:
- MD421 Sennheiser: Two mics for both toms.

Overheads:
- Josephson C42: A small condenser mic.

Room Mics:
- Aston Microphone Spirit: Two mics for room ambiance.
- Aston Origin: One additional mic.
In total, we have about 13 mics set up.

Okay, let's get started and set up the mics so we can begin recording.
I received a track that I've never heard before, so this will be a first for me as well. I'm interested to see what kind of track it is.
But it's definitely going to sound big with the hall mic and the stereo room mics as well.
