Meet the Instructors

Pat Lovett

Hi there, my name is Pat Lovett. I'm going to help you learn the drums on this Rock School course. I'll guide you through rock and blues tunes, drawing from my experience playing with various bands around the world, including:

• Ronnie Scott's Blues Explosion
• Tom Jones
• Zigaboom Odalis from the Meters

Both of these drummers, including Bernard Purdey, are very important in the development of rock and blues drumming. If you haven't heard of them, definitely check them out! What I learned from them, I hope to pass on to you through these lessons.

Harry Pope

Hey, I'm Harry Pope. I'll be taking you through the jazz and hip hop pathways on Rock School Grade's debut to eight. I'm really excited about it!

I've been chosen for this role because, as a pro drummer living in London, I play both jazz and hip hop at a high professional level and have toured the world with these genres.

Rich Hawking

Hi everyone, I'm Rich Hawking. I'll guide you through the metal songs in this Rock School syllabus. I am mainly known for playing in the metal world with the band Hacktivity.

My Focus

I'll draw upon my experiences on the road, through tours, festivals, and big arenas, to provide you with tips to help you digest these parts and play authentic-sounding metal.

Youssef

Hello everybody, my name is Youssef. I'm a pro drummer living in London. Today, I'll be showing you some classic rock tunes that influenced me growing up.

We'll focus on:
