About this course

Mike Lovatt - acclaimed UK trumpeter and Chair of Trumpet at the Royal Academy of Music - teaches you to play the trumpet authentically in the Latin style. The course is built around three pieces from the book Easy Jazzy 'Tudes, increasing in difficulty as you go. By the end you'll have a real grip on the intonation, phrasing, technique and dynamics the style depends on. Mike covers Latin groove and articulation, breathing and air flow, inflections such as bends, vibrato, slides and falls, starting and ending tunes cleanly, and intonation and musicality. You get sheet music for all three tunes, demonstrations you can slow down and loop, and backing tracks so you can play along with a real Latin band.
