Bring your Mozart singing closer to the stage with this masterclass, in which soprano Chen Reiss coaches members of the UK's Philharmonia Chorus through a programme of Mozart arias. You see how a leading interpreter shapes line, character and language in this repertoire - detail you can apply straight to your own singing.
The arias span some of Mozart's greatest operas: Cosi fan tutte, La clemenza di Tito, Die Zauberflote, Idomeneo, re di Creta, and Le nozze di Figaro.
Repertoire, in detail:
Chen Reiss is one of the world's most accomplished sopranos, with leading roles at the Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Theatre des Champs-Elysees and Teatro alla Scala among many others, and appearances under numerous distinguished conductors. Her students here belong to the Philharmonia Chorus, founded by Walter Legge in 1957 and quickly established as one of Europe's premier choruses.
In partnership with The Masterclass Media Foundation Archives, which provides a valuable educational resource in order to perpetuate musical passion and knowledge from one generation to another. [MMF046]
